ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIP
ELIGIBILITY
Education Criteria
A minimum of 16 years of education leading to a degree is required.
Applicants with:
- a Bachelor’s degree shorter than four years, or
- a degree from a foreign institution, or
- a degree from an institution not recognized by HEC Pakistan
Must submit an Equivalence Certificate confirming 16 years of education, issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.

Academic Performance
Minimum required:
- CGPA 2.4 / 4.0, or
- 60% marks
This requirement applies to all university-level degrees.
Academic Background
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in one of the following:

Mathematics
-
Statistics
-
Physics
-
A closely related discipline (as determined by the Mathematics Graduate Committee)
Important Notes

Applicants completing their final degree by July 31, 2025 may apply, provided they meet all admission requirements at the time of submission.

All academic records and test attempts must be fully disclosed. Incomplete or inaccurate information may lead to disqualification.

LUMS Class of 2025 applicants may apply based on their 7th semester results.

International Applicants

FEES
- The application processing fee is PKR 4,000.
- LGAT fee is PKR 2,480.
- SBASSE Subject Test fee is PKR 3,000.
- The application processing fee is USD 170 for International applicants.
ADMISSION TEST
Applicants to the MS Mathematics Programme are required to take the following two (2) admission tests in order to be considered for Fall 2026 admission:
- LUMS Graduate Admission Test (LGAT); and
- LUMS SBASSE Subject Test in Mathematics
NOTE:
- LUMS Graduate Admission Test (LGAT) is comprised of Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytical sections.
- The LGAT and SBASSE Subject Test Scores will be valid only for the admission of Fall 2026.
- The LGAT and SBASSE Subject Test scores will be used for application evaluation and, hence, will not be disclosed to applicants.

International Applicants
Applicants to the LUMS-IMM (MS Mathematics) Programme are required to take the following admission test in order to be considered for Fall 2026 admission:
IMM Graduate Admission Test
Exemption for applicants who have taken Graduate Record Examination (GRE) tests:
- Applicants who have taken the Graduate Record Examination GRE (General) (through the Educational Testing Service USA) during the last two (2) years (i.e., after April 26, 2023) and obtained an aggregate score of 300 in the quantitative and verbal sections may choose not to take the LGAT.
- Applicants who have taken the GRE Subject Test in Mathematics (through the Educational Testing Service USA) during the last two (2) years (i.e. after April 26, 2023) and obtained a score at the 60th percentile or above may choose not to take the SBASSE Subject Test in Mathematics
GRE scores must be reported to LUMS officially from the testing agency. The college code for reporting GRE (General) and GRE Subject Test scores to LUMS is 0679.
APPLICATION REVIEW
Application Review
Shortlisted applications are reviewed by the relevant committee to finalize admission decisions.
Applicants are encouraged to submit complete and accurate information about:
- Academic achievements
- Research work
- Workshops and training
- Extracurricular activities
- Work experience
- Test attempts
Applicants should clearly highlight their key achievements and success stories, as applications are evaluated solely on the information provided at the time of submission. Incomplete or incorrect information may affect the evaluation.
Interview
Shortlisted applicants may be required to appear for an interview.
SUBMISSION
Application Process
Your application will be reviewed only after all four required steps are completed by the stated deadlines:

Submit the online admission application

Upload scanned copies of all required supporting documents

Pay the Application Processing Fee and Test Fee (if applicable)

Submit the Financial Aid application (if applicable)
Deadlines & Important Information

The online admission application must be submitted by
April 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm (PKT). -
Scanned copies of all supporting documents must be uploaded by
April 16, 2025. -
After submitting the online application, applicants must pay the Processing Fee by the deadline for the application to be considered complete.
Financial Aid applicants only:
- Applicants must indicate their intent to apply for Financial Aid in the online admission form.
- The admission application and Processing Fee must be submitted by the deadline.
- Once eligible, the Financial Aid application tab will appear on the admission portal starting February 10, 2025.
- The completed Financial Aid application, along with all required documents, must be submitted by May 16, 2025.
Note:
Completion of all applicable steps is mandatory.
Applications, documents, or fees submitted after the deadlines will not be processed.
