ABOUT ME

Educational Background and Interest in Mathematics:

I completed a 4-year Bachelor's degree followed by a 2-year Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Peshawar, Peshawar, Pakistan. My good grades in mathematics during my early education made me realize the strong connection I had with mathematics. As I delved deeper into advanced mathematics, I discovered that it is one of the important keys to understanding nature. Mathematics allows us to uncover the hidden beauty and patterns in the world. It helps us to comprehend and visualize concepts that are beyond our common intuitions. This outstanding ability of mathematics fuels my passion for it and drives me to explore its applications further.

MORE INFORMATION

Discovery of IMM:

I first learned about the International Mathematics Masters (IMM) through a chance encounter with Professor Stefano Luzzattu. In early 2019, a friend of mine, Shah Faisal, recommended that I attend a talk by Professor Luzzattu at the ASSMS, Lahore, Pakistan. After the presentation, I had the opportunity to speak with Professor Luzzattu, who mentioned the IMM program and its focus on creative problem-solving and teamwork. It seemed like a perfect way to deepen my mathematical understanding and gain exposure to interacting with international professors and students.

IMM Experience:

I participated in the program from 2019 to 2020, which was an incredible experience. During the first semester, I attended classes in person, which allowed me to engage directly with both my peers and professors. Unfortunately, with the surge of COVID-19, we were forced to transition to online learning for the remainder of the year. During this year, I was introduced to several fascinating fields of mathematics such as Algebraic Topology, Dynamical Systems and Machine Learning. At the end of the year, I was selected for the Master 2 (one-year) program in France.

Professional Goals:

My long-term professional goals revolve around continuing my research in applied mathematics and my volunteer work. I am considering opportunities in both academia and industry. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am proud to mention that I am also running a foundation called "The Maths Volunteers Foundation." This foundation is dedicated to guiding and supporting students to achieve their goals and maximize their potential—all free of charge. Ultimately, my long-term goal is to make a positive impact through my work, whether in academia, industry or through my foundation.

Key Accomplishments:

I am proud of: - Postdoctoral Fellowships in Applied Mathematics, Liverpool, UK (2024) - Marie-Curie PhD Fellowship in Applied Mathematics, Liverpool, UK(2021) - Establishment of The Maths Volunteers Foundation (2020) - M2 Scholarship, Marseille, France (2020) - IMM Scholarship, Lahore, Pakistan (2019) - Certificate of Merit in Bachelors, Peshawar, Pakistan (2017) - Award of Laptop in PM Laptop Scheme, Peshawar, Pakistan (2014)
