Wajid Ali
I grew up in the village Masho Khel in Peshawar. I did my bachelors (in 2017) in mathematics with thesis "Ulam's Type Stability of Impulsive and Delay Differential Equations" and Masters (in 2019) in applied mathematics with thesis "Stability and Bifurcation Analysis of Modified Lotka-Volterra Models" under the supervision of Dr. Akbar Zada (University of Peshawar (uop.edu.pk) from University of Peshawar, Pakistan. I have taught Mathematics in Islamia College University Peshawar and Govt. College of Technology Peshawar, and have established an Education foundation named "Masho Khel Free Education Foundation".
I joined the first batch of IMM (in 2019) and after one year I went to Aix-Marseille University for M2 (one year master) with scholarship from Archimes Institute, France. There I worked on the project entitled "Some Game Theoretic Mathematical Models for the Study of Honest Signalling" under the supervision of Dr. Mathias Gauduchon.
In Fall 2021, I got a PhD position at University of Liverpool, England. I am part of the EU project that focuses on "Models of evolution in network-structured populations." We will develop eco-evolutionary dynamics models in network-structured populations. These models will be underpinned by real ecological processes by building on competition dynamics models in ecology and epidemiology.
To me, mathematics is one of the important keys to understanding nature; it helps to understand the hidden beauty and patterns in nature. Mathematics helps to understand and visualise things which are beyond our common intuitions.
The IMM team has been very kind to me. I am grateful for their support. The IMM is unique of its kind in Pakistan, there is no such parallel program in Pakistan. It is the only platform where students can learn from internationally renowned mathematicians. I will be happy to support the IMM team in future.
