Ammara Rashid

I came to know about this prestigious International Mathematics Masters (IMM) program by one of my seniors. I decided to apply to IMM because it has world-renowned foreign professors, and offers excellent opportunities for advanced study, and I believe it will greatly facilitate my future research in mathematics.

My experience at IMM has been extremely rewarding, though a bit challenging at times. The environment was conducive to learning and growth, made it an awesome journey overall. I was part of the 2021-2023 batch. I enjoyed all the courses and instructors, but some stood out: I particularly enjoyed the office hours with Dominic Veconi during Complex Analysis. The courses by Jose and Waleed Noor in Analysis were exceptional, and Diletta Martinelli's Linear Algebra course was memorable. Additionally, the teachings of Stefano Luzzatto and Melkior in Dynamical Systems were highly impactful. Moreover, Diletta Martinelli was my IMM thesis supervisor as well, and I learned a lot from her. She is a very nice and inspiring teacher.

My long-term professional goal is to pursue a career in academia. I aim to contribute to the field of mathematics through teaching and research, inspiring the next generation of mathematicians, and advancing our understanding of mathematical concepts.

Some professional achievements I am particularly proud of include being a Gold medalist in BS Mathematics, receiving a fellowship at IMM, and earning a fully funded scholarship at LUMS for my PhD studies. Additionally, I was awarded a PhD scholarship in a European country but could not pursue it due to personal reasons.
