OVERVIEW
European Mathematical Society, via its Commission for Developing Countries (EMS-CDC) has awarded recognition to host institutions of IMM (e.g. in Pakistan) and supports the programme’s regional-excellence mission
EMS CDC Emerging Regional Centres of Excellence Programme EMS is the main pan-European learned society for mathematicians it represents about 60 national mathematical societies across Europe, 50ish research centres (departments/institutes), and thousands of individual mathematicians.
Its mission: to promote all aspects of mathematics in Europe, pure and applied research, education, the relation between mathematics and society, and collaboration across borders.
EMS acts both as a coordinator / network-builder (bringing together societies, institutes, researchers across Europe) and as a platform for influence: it represents mathematicians to European institutions, helps shape policy, advocate for funding and ensure mathematics has visibility at the level of European science/education.
It also has a publishing arm (EMS Press) producing peer-reviewed journals, books, etc., which helps disseminate state-of-the-art mathematics research.
