Ibrahim Abdulazeez
I was born and brought up in Zaria, Nigeria. I obtained my BSc in mathematics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria before joining IMM Pakistan.
Mathematics to me is the key to everything in the world. This is because all things involve either patterns, puzzles, sequences, order, logic or symmetry. With these it’s quite easy to believe that mathematics is in our everyday lives and helps in understanding the world better.
I was motivated to join the IMM programme because of its recognition and reputation, and because I strongly believe that I will be taught by highly revered international professors who have attained academic excellence and have globally proven to be authorities in the field of mathematics.
As a bachelor of science in mathematics with great enthusiasm, I have come to realise that there’s difference between learning mathematics and doing mathematics. I therefore have the desire to learn mathematics and be actively involved in doing mathematics. It is my expectation that at the end of the programme, I'd have an in-depth knowledge of mathematics that would enable me to carry out a recommendable research in mathematics with the guide and support of my supervisors. Furthermore, I hope to be well exposed and equipped with problem solving skills.
I have the vision to inspire young and upcoming generations who aspire and have the zeal to study mathematics at all levels. After the programme, therefore, I would return to my country to teach students that will bring about research revolutions in mathematics.
It is my ambition to further earn a PhD in mathematics and attain the rank of a professor in the future.
